POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Manager, located in Newmarket Ontario, is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting for an assigned group of dental practices. You will assist the Practice Partner and Management in business decision-making by providing accounting & finance services. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting protocols to meet company objectives.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Financial and statistical reporting/information
- Accounting
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Analyze accounts and report on issues and concerns
- Assist with monthly payroll administration for dentists (independent contractors)
- Process and code Accounts payable
- Process expenses, cheque and petty cash requests
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Cash reconciliations - monitor deposits, cheques and fees
- Run month end reports from PMS software, and other financial reports as required
- Manually populate spreadsheets with data from Practice reports (Receipts, Production, aged AR)
- Run and email large volumes of doctor statements
- Provide support on all areas within the finance department.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years' experience in a similar role/environment; managerial experience preferred
- Basic tax knowledge
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends when required
- Familiar with payroll functions
- Comfortable in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- A self-starter, highly positive can-do attitude in a rapidly changing environment
- University degree in Accounting / Finance, preferably with goals towards a CPA certification
- Detail oriented
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Tech Savvy
