Associate Dentist - Slave Lake

Part Time Associate Dentist – Slave Lake Dental (Slave Lake, AB)

Location: Slave Lake, Alberta

Compensation: 45% collections

About the Opportunity

Slave Lake Dental is seeking a patient‑focused Associate Dentist to join a highly established, technology‑forward practice serving a community of more than 25,000 residents from Slave Lake and surrounding areas. With an active patient base of 5,100 and a strong reputation for comprehensive care, this position offers immediate opportunity, robust mentorship, and a warm small‑town practice environment where patients truly feel like family.

Schedule Needing Coverage

  • Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Chair access:

  • 2 dedicated DDS chairs
  • DDS chairs booked 2–3 weeks out

The Associate will work independently on Fridays, with full clinical and RDA support.

Patient Base & Team Structure

  • Active Patients: 5,100
  • RDH Team: 3 + 1 RDA with scaling module
  • RDAs: 8 total
  • Total Chairs: 17
    • 2 DDS chairs for associate
    • 4 hygiene chairs
  • Chairs running daily: 7 DDS chairs (12 run daily)

Required Clinical Skills

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with:

  • Bread‑and‑butter dentistry
  • Basic oral surgery
  • Fixed prosthodontics (crown & bridge)

Sedation & Advanced Services

  • Nitrous sedation
  • IV Sedation available (with visiting provider)
  • Wisdom teeth removal (visiting clinician)

Partner Terri Pukanich also performs extensive orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry, creating opportunities for exposure and mentorship.

About You:

  • Graduate from an accredited DDS/DMD Program or successful completion of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB) Equivalency Process

  • Registered and in good standing with provincial licensing requirements

  • Valid CPR certification
